What is Functional Nutrition?
Functional nutrition is the practice where I consider every aspect of one’s health, diet, and overall lifestyle when giving them nutrition recommendations.
With functional nutrition, symptoms are seen as clues for diagnosing your primary health problems, whether they are related to diet, illnesses, medications, lifestyle factors, exposure to toxins, antibiotic use, or other factors.
While standard healthcare will try to suppress these symptoms with medication, functional nutrition instead sees them as clues for understanding the underlying issues within your body. By considering the impacts of seemingly unrelated factors on your health, functional nutritionists will put together a nutritional and lifestyle plan that takes every aspect of your health into consideration.
For these reasons, functional nutrition is never one-size-fits-all. Instead, it is a highly customized holistic health perspective that takes your unique specifications into account to trigger healing from the cellular level.
The areas of consideration and the tools I use:
Muscle Strength Testing, is a method of diagnosis and treatment based on the belief that various muscles are linked to particular organs and glands, and that specific muscle weakness can signal distant internal problems such as nerve damage, reduced blood supply, chemical imbalances or other organ or gland problems.
MRT is used to determine whether a particular food or other substance weakens (or strengthens) a patient, the food may placed under the tongue or held in the hand as a muscle is tested. I may also assess emotional well-being by testing muscle strength while the patient imagines being in a troubling or tense situation or with a problematic person. Where we will then collect all evidence of the imbalance and put in action a plan of correction.
A ZYTO scan involves presenting questions in the form of digital signatures that the body answers directly. The ZYTO Hand Cradle measures the body’s galvanic skin response to each unique signature and sends the data directly to the software for analysis. Where it will give more clues of where your body is out of balance and where we can begin to fill the voids and bring it back to resilience.
Regular blood testing is one of the most important ways to keep track of your overall physical well-being.
Getting tested at routine intervals can allow you to see the way your body changes over time and empower you to make informed decisions about your health.
In using the understanding of the biochemistry of each analyte, what the optimal ranges are from an evidence based, not population-based statistical average. It will help in looking for overall indicators that of an illness or dysfunction and how to see the big picture. Blood chemistry is essential to a nutritional/functional medicine practice as one of the best ways to help me to uncover hidden abnormalities long before clinical symptoms may manifest. This makes nutritional blood chemistry truly preventive.
Using the latest research into our genetic makeup has given us great insight into the true causes of chronic diseases. Armed with this information, we can begin to help our bodies work like they are supposed to. We do that by giving it support where we may be lacking nutrients due to genetic variants. This simple concept has dramatic effects on overall health.
We have 10 to 21 days programs to meet everyones needs. Purification, also known as detoxification, can help you remove natural toxins from your body and help maintain a healthy weight. We are exposed to external toxins on a daily basis. These include pollutants, pesticides and chemicals. Internally, our bodies produce waste byproducts as a result of normal metabolic function. Although your body is designed to rid itself of these toxins naturally, it can become overburdened. Purification offers your body additional support to expel and metabolize these toxins and manage weight, which is important to maintaining your health and vitality.*
List of the areas mostly likely effected by toxin build up:
Fatigue or difficulty sleeping Indigestion and other temporary gastrointestinal upset
Food cravings and weight gain Reduced mental clarity
Skin that’s not looking its best
If not assessed and put into plan can lead to illnesses and disorders that can be prevented.
There is a ton of support while you do these programs, whether you choose to do it alone or with a group!
Collectively combine all the results from various questions, tools and techniques too create a healthy eating and lifestyle plan that you can live by to get healthy and stay healthy for life!
